Siyang’s research focuses on the intersection of AI-mediated communication, digital censorship, and political identity, with a particular emphasis on how users interpret politically constrained AI responses and how those interpretations shape their understanding of state authority and national identity. Prior to beginning her doctoral studies, she worked in arts administration at Carolina Performing Arts and earned a B.A. in Anthropology with Honors from the University of Rochester.
