Join Lambda Pi Eta
The Communication Major
October 2007
Dear Communication Major;
I am pleased to inform you that you are eligible for membership in the Omicron Psi Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta (LPH). Lambda Pi Eta is the official communication studies honor society of the National Communication Association (NCA). LPH is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) with over 400 chapters worldwide.
Membership is by invitation only and is extended to those Communication majors who obtain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA after 60 credit hours and a minimum 3.25 GPA in the Communication major with at least 12 credits completed.
As a member, you will receive a certificate of membership. You are also eligible for involvement in the organization at the national level through participation in the annual business meeting, awards ceremony, and undergraduate paper presentations.
The Omicron Psi Chapter here at Pitt has been a long time coming and finally received University recognition 2005. This means that you have the added privilege of being among the inaugural members of the organization.
Again, congratulations on your academic achievement and invitation to join Lambda Pi Eta. If you have questions or require additional information, please contact me at (412) 624-1138 or at gareis@pitt.edu. I am looking forward to welcoming you as a LPH member in the spring.
Sincerely,
John W. Gareis, Ph.D.
