Spring 2009 Registration
Each communication major who wishes to register for Spring Term 2009 (2094) should attend a group registration session during the week of October 20-24. Sign-up sheets for these sessions will be posted on the Communication Department advising board outside of 1119 Cathedral of Learning on October 8. Please stop by on or after this date to sign up for a group registration session. It is especially important to attend the first 45 minutes of your advising group session. If you are graduating in December 2008 or have pre-registered for next term during Semester-at-Sea or Study Abroad, you do not need to attend a group registration meeting.
After your registration forms have been collected and numbered at the end of the group registration sessions, they will be processed by order of credits accumulated – seniors first, etc. In your group registration session you will be told what day to stop back to confirm the courses you have received. You should come to your group registration session with a possible schedule and with a long list of desirable alternative courses. Remember that communication and other classes may fill early, so you may not receive your first choice of classes. Also, you will not be present when your registration form is processed. If you do not provide a number of alternatives, you may end up being registered for few or no courses!
You are encouraged to see one of the Communication Department advisors before October 20 to plan your course schedule. Call 412-624-1138 or stop by the office to schedule a pre-registration advising session with Jack Gareis or Meredith Guthrie.
NOTE on Group Registration Sessions: It is especially important to attend the first 45 minutes of your group registration session. During this time, important imformation about your status in the department, and about any changes in academic requirements of the department or of Arts and Sciences, will be given.
