Graduate Students Receive Four Important Fellowships for Academic Year 2007-08

Three students have been awarded full-year, full-time, nonteaching Andrew
Mellon Predoctoral Fellowships for their ongoing dissertation work.

Christine J. Feldman, currently full-year, full-time Fulbright fellow at the University of Hamburg, "Mod Odyssey: The Utopian Trajectory of an Enduring Youth Culture" (Advisor: Ronald J. Zboray, professor and director of graduate studies)

Damien Pfister, "When There Were Blogs: Blogging and Deliberative Practices, 2001-2006" (Advisor: Gordon Mitchell, associate professor and director of debate).

Qian Zhang, "From Hollywood to Shanghai: American Silent Films in China" (Advisor: Ronald J. Zboray, professor and director of graduate studies).

For the second year in a row, a Communication graduate student has been named a Women's Studies Teaching Fellow; in 2006-07, that honor went to Jessica Ghilani, and for 2007-08 to Carly Woods.
