Ronald and Mary Zboray Awarded
Ronald J. Zboray and Mary Saracino Zboray recently received an award from the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) for the "Best Journalism and Mass Communication History Book of 2006" in their History Division.
The book that earned them this honor is entitled "Everyday Ideas: Socioliterary Experience Among Antebellum New Englanders". In the book, the Zborays examine the use of literature in everyday life during the American Renaissance. Information gathered from four thousand manuscript letters and diaries of factory workers, farmers, clerks, storekeepers, domestics and teachers was used in the creation of this work. The Zborays demonstrate how the social and literary dimensions of human experience related in antebellum New England.
