Donald B. Egolf is interested in human communication, both normal processes and communication pathologies, and in communication technologies.

He has taught graduate courses in research methodologies, communication theory, and seminars in computer-mediated communication; he currently teaches undergraduate courses in interpersonal, small-group, organizational, and nonverbal communication. Egolf was awarded the Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award in 2002.
